Samarkand, Uzbekistan

Samarkand, Uzbekistan

Uzbekistan is without a doubt one of the most fascinating places I have visited. Although this country in Central Asia was isolated from the outside world for decades, nowadays locals welcome foreigners with open arms and make them feel at home; be ready to be fed constantly and to be offered tea wherever you go! Uzbek hospitality is unlike any other; and the Islamic architecture in the legendary cities of Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva is jaw-dropping.

Cappadocia, Turkey

Cappadocia, Turkey
Beautiful carved stone churches; secret underground cities and an outlandish, lunar-like landscape are just some of the marvels that have made Cappadocia a unique place. It doesn’t matter if it is summertime or snowy winter, this region of Turkey has a special charm all year round.

Kathmandu, Nepal

Kathmandu, Nepal

As soon as I stepped out of the airport, Kathmandu felt intoxicating. The city’s heavy traffic and pollution were far from what I had expected; but don’t be discourage by the first impression. The “old” city is dotted with old and stunning Buddhist and Hindu buildings that can take visitors back in time. This photo was taken in “Pashupati Nath Temple” and these men are called “babas,” devotees who have given up everything to dedicate their lives to God

Mongolia

MONGOLIA

Standing amidst the Mongolian wilderness, I felt like a drop in a bucket! There were no signs of civilization for hundreds of miles; and my cell phone didn’t work. Exploring Mongolia was a constant communion with pure nature. The Gobi Desert is incredibly diverse. The landscape includes immense plains, rugged and striking mountain ranges, sheer rock formations, deserts, gigantic dunes, lush valleys, winding rivers and glossy lakes. It is definitely one of the most unforgettable travel experiences of my life!

Reykjavik, Iceland

Glacier Iceland

Iceland’s wilderness is a dreamy playground for adventurers and outdoor lovers! This volcanic island of lava and glaciers has a diverse, bizarre and breathtaking moon-like landscape. The Blue Lagoon is a spectacular natural “spa” that has therapeutic properties for the skin and muscles, but… watch out for its effect on your hair. Unless you want to look like Beetlejuice, be sure to wash your hair well and slather it with a lot of conditioner after a dip into these hot springs!
