Itinerary Honduras

kisss meThis is a tentative itinerary for a four to five day trip to Honduras that combines relaxation, adventure and culture.

Day 1: Arrival San Pedro Sula

Day 2: Day excursion to Copan (Mayan Ruins) about 2 ½ and 3 hours away from the city. There is the option to stay in the old town of Copan for the night.

Day 3: Day excursion to National Park Cusuco where you can do waterfall rappelling, hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking, bird watching, and the list goes on! (There is also the option to stay overnight camping in the cloud forest-strongly recommended)

Day 4: Day at the beach. I went to a beach in the costal city of Tela, which was very isolated and not so touristy, and where you can take a boat to Punta Sal National Park. Also, you can go to La Ceiba and from there take a morning ferry to the islands of Roatan or Utila.

ITINERARY PERITO MORENO, PATAGONIA

Perito Moreno Glacier

Perito Moreno Glacier

I went to El Calafate for a weekend just to see Perito Moreno Glacier. It was worth the trip, however, the area deserves more than two days. This is a suggested itinerary based on what I saw and on what I weren’t able to see. The places I added here were strongly recommended by locals and the photos I saw were jaw-dropping.

DAY 1: Arrival in El Calafate
DAY 2: Full Day Excursion to Perito Moreno Glacier
DAY 3: Departure to El Chantal (stay day in the town)
DAY 4, 5 & 6: Fitz Roy Excursion (Laguna Torre, Cerro Torre and Base Camp)
DAY 7: Return to El Calafate

Itinerary Tibet

IMG_0929 In order to avoid the high altitude sickness, I took the Sky Train from Beijing to Lhasa. It takes 48 hours, but it will help you acclimatize before arriving in the capital of Tibet. Also, the views along the way are stunning so it is worth the long ride!

Lhasa is great, but the true beauty of Tibet is in its countryside so make sure you take a few days to explore the Tibetan plateau.

Here it is the itinerary I followed:

Day 1: Arrival in Beijing (If you have not visited Beijing, stay three days to explore the city)
Day 2: Sky Train
Day 3: Sky Train
Day 4: Lhasa (Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, and Barkor Square)
Day 5: Lhasa (Drepung, Sera Monastery and Norbulingka Palace)
Day 6: Day trip from Lhasa to Nam-tso Lake
Day 7: Gyangtse (Visit Yamdrok Lake on the way, and Kumbum Monastery)
Day 8: Shitgatse (Visit Shalu Gompa on the way, and Tashi Lumpo Monastery)
Day 9: Rombuk (Visit the Rombuk Monastery and Everest Base Camp. Stay at a Tibetan guesthouse at the village nearby, or stay at the Monastery with views of the Base Camp)
Day 10: Zagmu (via Tingri, a small town with the Himalayas as a background. The road from Tingri to Zagmu, the border with Nepal, is stunning with a diverse landscape that goes from snowy peaks to forest)
Day 11: Zangmu to Kathmandu, Nepal. Cross the border through the Friendship Bridge and take a bus to Nepalese capital

Itinerary Bhutan

IMG_1887I went to Bhutan for only six days, and saw a lot. The tour agency did a terrific job squeezing as much as possible in those six days so I could make the most of my visit. However, I would strongly recommend spending at least ten days in Bhutan. It is worth the time and the money. It is not like any other country you will ever visit!

Day 1: Paro (Visit National Museum, and Rinchen Pung Dzong)
Day 2: Thimphu (Memorial Chorten, Changgangkha Lhakhang Monastery, Folk Heritage Museum, National Institute of Traditional Medicine, National Institute for Zorig Chusum, and Takin Reserve)
Day 3: Punakha Valley (don’t miss the stunning Punakha Dzong Fortress).
Day 4: Excursion to Phobjikha Valley (see the Black necked cranes) and drive back to Thimpu
Day 5: Hike to Taktsang Monastery (Tiger Nest)
Day 6: Departure from Paro, Bhutan

You can add to this itinerary the following:

o“Druk Path-Trek”: Trek and Camping for 3 nights/4 days
oDay Hike around Dochola Pass (Paro to Thimphu)
oOr just talk to Lotay or Fin from Bridge to Bhutan (their contact info is at the Tips section) and tell them what you like, they will tailor an itinerary based on your interests.
