TV host (Discovery En Español), TV journalist (Univision, TV Azteca, Venevision, CNN World Report), writer (Mexico’s Reforma Newspaper & author of Ebook “Diaries of an Adventurer) and senior publicist, Daniela Zavala has explored solo more than 70 countries, including remote and nontraditional places such as Iran, Uzbekistan, Mongolia, Ethiopia, Uganda, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Pakistan, and most recently Yemen.

Most people think that Daniela comes from a family of diplomats or adventurers, but she grew up in a small town in Venezuela and never imagined that she would become the confident explorer she is today.

Her passion for world travel arose quite by accident in 1997 when her first backpacking trip to Europe with two friends fell through. Holding that ticket for a Madrid flight, she didn’t know that she would make a decision that would forever change her life and would continue to empower her- she would go on her own.

Since then, Daniela never stopped traveling alone, daring to explore each time more remote and dangerous destinations where most people would not go…always in the search of fascinating stories and unique experiences.

But, Daniela is not your typical tourist lodging in fancy hotels and taking tours. She strives to see all facets of a country, which exposes her to all sorts of experiences, from shocking and funny stories to witnessing the brutal survival of life and death.

In addition to being a world adventurer, Daniela’s journalistic work has been featured in Univision Networks, CNN En Español, MegaTV, Mexico’s TV Azteca and Venevision. She also writes for Mexico’s Reforma Newspaper and most recently co-hosted Discovery en Español’s documentary “GEN H,” an original production that reflects the positive energy and drive of young Hispanics who follow their own rules and represent the new Generation.

With the mission to spread her passion for world exploring and to bring awareness to social and ecological issues that affect us all, Daniela launched in 2009, finding an audience of thousands of followers across the world.
