Jakarta: I didn’t spend much time in Jakarta but I strongly recommend The Maritim Guest House for accommodation. It is without doubt One of the best (if not the best) bed and breakfast I had stayed!!!! Rooms are spotless and beautiful. It is located in a central but quite area of Jakarta so you don’t feel you are in such a chaotic city. It also has free and fast wireless. But what made my stay special was Don and Ita. They are the owners of this pretty B&B and they made me feel at home and among friends. The food was excellent. So, if you are passing by Jakarta or need a based to explore the city, check this B&B out. You wont regret it. Website: Email: Address: Jalan Maritim Raya No. 2 | Cilandak, Jakarta, Indonesia. Borneo (to spot Orangutans): I wish I could have stayed longer in Borneo and do a longer trek. It is an amazing place! I went on a three days two nights boat trip to visit the Tanjung Puting National Park, which is said to be the best place to spot orangutans. We saw both wild and habituated or rehabilitated. The experience of seeing these endanger experience in its habitat is worth visiting although it is pricy. There are many tour agencies offering packages. I got different quotes and decided to go with an agent that was recommended in lonely planet forum despite he didn’t have a website as other tour operators. I am so happy I went with him instead of the other agencies. His name is Fardi. He is reliable, fast, resourceful, helpful and gave me the most competitive price among the five agencies I contacted. The boat was simple but well equipped, and our boat crew was wonderful! The captain was fun, our guide was knowledgeable and went the extra mile for us, and the cook was awesome (the best food we had in Indonesia!). Fardi didn’t come with us, but he knew it was my father’s birthday and brought us a cake to celebrate, which was a gesture that showed how much he cared about his customers and his efforts to make the trip of his visitors as memorable as possible. I strongly recommend him if you plan to go to Borneo because for sure he will tailor the trip to Borneo to your need and will make it unforgettable. You can contact Fardi of ‘ Orangutan House Boating Tour ‘ at +6285751349756 or +6285248669394, or email him: Address: Jl. Berlian Rt.16 kec. Kumai, kel. Kumai Hulu, Kal-Teng Indonesia. LabuanBajo: This is a fishing town in Flores in the Nusa Tenggara region. Most people go to Bali but I strongly believe Flores is more beautiful and may become the next Bali so go before it got all spoiled! This place is a great base to explore Komodo islands, enjoy some gorgeous virgin beaches, local tribes (the traditional village of Wae Rebo) and do some off the beaten path treks (such as a visit of the Istana Ular Cave also known as the Snake Palace, another highlight of my trip to Indonesia) We stayed at Laprima Hotel and we loved it. This hotel is the best in town. Its location is hard to beat! Close enough to walk to the town but also apart enough to feel you have your own piece of paradise with the best sunset view. The rooms are clean, comfortable and well equipped. The food is generous and the swimming pool is amazing, facing the sea. The staff will go out of the way to take care of your needs and help you coordinate your excursions either to Komodo or around the island. Address: Jl. Pantai Pedeh Street, 8, Labuan Bajo, Flores, Indonesia.
