My trip to Ethiopia was focused on the tribes so I headed to the remote Omo Valley in the south. Ethiopia is a country with rich culture and history, so if you have time, add to your itinerary some days to visit the north (the churches of King Lalibella, Blue Nile Falls, and the Danakil desert are some of the biggest attractions)
DAY 1: Arrival Addis Ababa
DAY 2: City tour Addis Ababa
DAY 3: Addis Ababa-Araba minch
Drive to Arba minch through Butajira. Stay overnight at Arba Minch.
DAY 4: Araba minch-Turmi
Drive to Turmi. Visit the Hammer tribes
DAY 5: Drive to Jinka
Early excursion to Omorate to visit Dassenach tribe village then drive to Jinka.
DAY 6: Excursion to Mursi village
Early in the morning excursion to the Mursi village, one of most interesting tribes in Omo Valley. They are known for their original body decoration (the lip plate worn by the women) and stick fighting.
DAY 7: Drive back to Arab minch via key Afer Marekt
Visit the weekly market of Bena and Tsemay tribes at key afer village. Key afer market is one of the most colorful tribal gatherings in the Omo valley. Visit Konso tribe village on the way.
DAY 8: Return to Addis Ababa, stopping in Dorze village
Visit the village of Dorze tribes, famous for their huge beehive huts and woven cotton cloth.

Hey, I love what you are doing. I would love to travel as you do but it requires time and money lol…
However I plan to discover the African continent as I’m based in Africa now 😉
My first trip would be ethiopia! How much would you recommend to organize a trip like yours in Ethiopia?
I’m looking forward to discovering this country.
Thank you
