Rwanda and Uganda are known for the gorilla tracking

I traveled to Uganda and Rwanda for just a week. There was a lot that I couldn’t see due to time. I am adding a few extra days in this itinerary so you guys can go to locations I feel are worth visiting.

DAY 1: Arrival in Kigali (Visit the genocide memorials)

DAY 2: Departure Kigali to the Virungas Volcanos (Musanze town or Ruhengeri is the closest to the park. There are many direct busses from Kigali to Musanze and it takes about 2 hours, however, there is not public transportation from Musanze to Kinigi, the entrance of the park, so you hire a driver and a car for it, or share the cost with other travelers)

DAY 3: Trek in the Virungas Volcanos

DAY 4: Bus from Musanze to Gisenyi (where you can visit the famous Lake Kivu)

DAY 5: Visit the Lake Kivu or do another trek in the Virungas

DAY 6: Bus from Gisenyi to Kigali (three hours)

DAY 7: Flight from Kigali, Rwanda, to Entebbe, Uganda (Stay overnight in Kampala)

DAY 8: Drive from Kampala to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, in south west of Uganda.

DAY 9: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi (If you finish early, you can take a trek to Bwindi waterfalls and do not miss to visit the Bwindi orphanage for some extraordinary kids’ performance)

DAY 10: Drive from Bwindi to Ishasha- Queen Elizabeth Park

DAY 11: Morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth Park- Afternoon boat ride on the Kazinga Channel

DAY 12: Morning visit to Kyambura Gorge for Chimp Tracking, then transfer to Masindi town

DAY 13: Drive from Masindi town to Murchinson Falls National Park for a game drive an boat cruise

DAY 14: Morning visit to the top of the Murchison Falls and return to Kampala.

DAY 15: Full day tour from Kampala to Jinja to do white water rafting in the Niles

DAY 16: Departure from Uganda.
